Dudsbury is beautifully situated five miles to the north of Bournemouth off the Christchurch – Wimborne Road (BS3073) Map Ref OS sheet 179 077979). The property of fifteen acres comprises of one large field and a smaller one known as Annes Meadow. The site is well wooded lying mainly within an ancient Celtic earthwork, built on a bold bluff overlooking the River Stour and close to the Stour Valley Way. The wooded slopes afford excellent opportunities for woodcraft activities and there is a Campfire Circle set in the shelter of the Rings. The river which is deep, swift and dangerous in places, cannot be used for bathing but there is sea bathing or indoor bathing at Bournemouth.
We have two un-equipped camp site available, although we are working on being able to supply camping equipment. Outside toilets available along with solid shelter.
There is a Wardens Cottage on the property and visitors should report there on arrival. The entrance does not provide access for very large coaches which should be off-loaded at the gate. A trolley is available from the Wardens. A car park on site is provided for visitors cars.
